Julie Jackson Interiors

ABOUT

I founded Julie Jackson Interiors because I strongly felt that good Interior Design advice should be available to all.

I am passionate about helping and supporting people to make the best use of their homes and create an interior to suit their needs. I firmly believe that a home is to be lived in and that Interior Design can benefit all home owners.

I have been practising Interior Design for family and friends all my adult life from making curtains and cushions through to paperhanging, redecorating, plumbing, tiling, and plastering and even knocking out walls!

After a few years working in the design and manufacture of fabrics and clothes a career in the production and management of technical engineering drawings followed.  Despite this my interest in Interior Design remained and in 2001 I began teaching the subject at City & Guilds level. In 2002 I began teaching Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) at the same level.

After helping a number of friends on their interiors projects I realised that I enjoyed working with them to plan and bring their ideas into reality. This gave me the inspiration to set up my business.  I have now carried out a number of projects ranging from simple room makeovers to complex extensions including planning and building regulation approvals.  Where necessary I work with other building and engineering specialists.

Ever keen to expand my knowledge of Interior Design I obtained a City and Guilds qualification in Interior Design in 2000 and in 2008 gained a BA (Hons) degree in Interior Design and Business Development at the University of Derby.
